Questions

Kind Massage believes peace of mind starts before you even arrive. Review the frequently asked questions section to learn more about services offered and what you can expect from your visit.

Your therapist will discuss your health history, areas of concern, and treatment goals before the session begins. After the intake, a short grounding ritual prepares your body to slow down and receive bodywork. After your massage you’ll have additional time to rest on the table, move slowly getting up, and reorient yourself before the practitioner re-joins you to close the session. You are invited to ask questions and communicate your comfort level at any time.

After intake the practitioner steps out and the client is asked to undress to their level of comfort. Oil and cream are applied during the treatment, so feel free to wear whatever you don’t mind potentially getting a little oil on. *Proper draping is always used throughout the session to ensure privacy and comfort.

Please arrive 5 minutes early for your first appointment, to ensure you find parking and get settled in.

The frequency depends on your goals. Some clients benefit from monthly maintenance, while others may schedule weekly or bi-weekly sessions for pain relief, recovery, or stress management.

Most massages should not be painful. However, some techniques, such as deep tissue, may involve heavier and more direct pressure, and can result in post-treatment pain. The goal of kiind bodywork is to provide relief without pain. The practitioner will always check in to ensure pressure is at a comfortable level for the client.

Yes! Communication is encouraged throughout your session to ensure the pressure is comfortable and effective for your needs. However, deep tissue that may stimulate the nervous system instead of settle it is not encouraged or applied.

Massage may help:

  • Reduce stress
  • Release anxiety
  • Relieve muscle tension
  • Improve circulation
  • Support recovery
  • Promote relaxation
  • Improve overall wellness
  • Increase mobility

While deep tissue massage is not directly offered, a stronger pressure may be applied upon request to relieve muscle tension and release knots or pressure points in areas of concern. With that said, Kiind aims to achieve these results without causing the client pain during or post-treatment.

Please provide at least 48 hours’ notice whenever possible. This allows appointment times to be offered to other clients, and you will get a 100% refund. If you cancel less than 48 hours in advance you may be subject to fees of up to the full session price. Extenuating circumstances and emergencies will of course be taken into account and worked with on a case-by-case basis.

Prenatal massage is a very beneficial modality, and extremely helpful for prenatal aches and pains. That being said, kiind does not currently offer prenatal massage. If you are pregnant, please provide that information on your client intake form. This way the practitioner can reach out to better understand what the best course of treatment is, depending on how far along you are.

60 minutes is a challenging amount of time to complete a full body massage with real presence and intention. With more time in the session there is no rush, and flow and pacing don’t become compromised. The concept of kiind is to invite the client to connect to actually slowing down and taking real time for themselves.

“The body will heal itself, given half the chance.”

Kiind Mission

To create a space where time slows down

My mission is to create a safe and loving space in which my clients step away from life’s strains and give their whole nervous system rest. By the end of each session, my hope is that you feel more grounded in your body, relief from any pain you may be carrying, deliciously pampered, and truly seen. This is not just a session of indulgence, but of a return to self, and a connection to being fully cared for in a safe setting. Every step is tailored and intended for true surrender and relief. You deserve to be taken care of. You deserve to have space held for you. And you deserve to take your time.
